This is the most ADORABLE thing I've ever seen. You'll never guess what was the inspiration! I'll give you a hint... "We wrote a prelude to our own fairy tale and bought a parachute at a church rummage sale and with a mean sewing machine and miles of thread we sewed the day above L.A. in navy and red. I'll be out of my mind and you'll be out of ideas pretty soon so let's spend the afternoon in a cold hot air balloon." Recognize it? The whimsical, nonsensical song Hot Air Balloon, by Owl City, was the original inspiration for this entire shoot! Krysten (who has the most gorgeous blue eyes ever!) sent this song in an email to Jack and Ruby Photography, who then made the plans on how they would build an adorable hot air balloon. The picnic shots are equally cute... I just love the shot where he is pulling her close with the picnic blanket wrapped around her. Well, prepare to sigh deeply, smile big and appreciate love as you scroll through these on this happy Sunday morning. :)
Here is what Jack and Ruby Photography had to say, "What could we do that was fun and cute like the song and how do we get a hot air balloon? After a lot of brainstorming and a few diagrams we decided we would make the hot air balloon. This was our big DIY project for the shoot and thankfully we had some talented help! Kara’s wonderfully crafty sister who puts Martha Stewart to shame constructed the basket of the balloon for us and we assembled the whole thing once we got to the site. Thanks Kendra! We were thisclose to having a problem when the basked didn’t fit into Kara’s vehicle, but lucky for us Kara’s other lovely sister delivered it to the site for us in her van, kids in tow (who gave up their afternoon at the wading pool for us!) Thanks Kim! Once the hot air balloon “landed” we headed into some trees for a picnic and some snuggles and then took a walk in the countryside to enjoy the sunset. These two are beyond sweet and all the love between them made our job so easy! You can’t go wrong with a couple this cute in front of your camera!!!"

During your engagement, your relationship with your fiance is probably crowded with big things: plans to buy a house, the buzz of wedding planning, and so much more. But, when you and your fiance start your life as husband and wife and settle into a daily routine, your relationship can start to feel mundane if you lose focus on what really matters…the little things.
